Partido Socialista (Ardisphere)
The Partido Socialista (Castellanese, by custom cited untranslated; Ingerish Socialist Party; Gohangukian 사회당 [sahoedang]) in the Ardispheric Federation has been one of the dominant two political parties (alongside the Partido Federal) in the modern era.
Founded in its modern form in the 1920s, since the election of its first successful presidential candidate, Eva Shinoda, in 1930, the party has fronted 8 of the last 14 presidents and occupied the Casa del Sol for 44 of the last 84 years, including the current incumbent, Montserrat Nowak de Chang.
Under Shinoda and her successor Andrés vonder Brücke, the Partido Socialista has been the primary creator of the so-called "Consenso moderno" (modern consensus), bringing the Ardisphere into its prosperous and peaceful contemporary status. Through a careful admixture of regulated capitalism, internationalism, and social welfare policies, the party has fundamentally realigned Ardispherian society. Not a single paragraph of the original 1925 Manifesto is not now also a plank in the opposition's platform.
Party History
Origins
Despite the extensive social reforms under President Yuna Namgung starting with her election in 1900, various socialist and communist parties continued to agitate for further change. The union activist and author of several widely-distributed tracts on the need for "revolutionary socialization" in the Ardisphere, Pancho Ulianof, managed to organize several groups under his umbrella organization, the Falange Vanguardista, in 1907. This organization had some success in backing candidates in the 1910s, but it was not a party in the traditional sense, and because of Ulianof's unrelenting advocacy of the use of violent means, the organization had difficulties with the authorities, too.
Ulianof met Shinoda at a rally in 1919, and they found several points of agreement, despite Shinoda's notably more moderate stance. She convinced Ulianof that elections were winnable and that change could be gradual and peaceful rather than revolutionary. Finally in 1923 the two of them began to tranform the Falange into what became the Partido Socialista, and by the 1925 convention, its structure was established and fully legal.

Ideology and Platform
Although by international standards the party is considered quite moderate, it remains committed to its socialist and Doonist ideals, and maintains a vocal membership in the Sixth International, the international organization of leftwing parties and organizations.
