fifu.fa is an internet retailer and web content aggregation company with headquarters at Avenida Mil Mesetas No. 1600, Barrio Vista del Río in Orlando Duquederrosas, DO (a suburb of Cerro y Casa, DO, in the Ardisphere). The company was founded in 1999 by entrepreneurs Pompeyo Bumibol and Lalo Fisch. Bumibol is still the chairman of the company, while Fisch sold his share and left the company in 2005 in order to enter politics.
Although there are many interesting theories about the meaning of the name, Fisch stated categorically, "Pues, el nombre no tiene sentido - fue un disparate nomas." (Well, the name means nothing - it was nothing more than nonsense.)
By volume fifu.fa is the 5th largest web site in the Ardisphere, and it also has an expanding international presence facilitated by its recent partnership with several air logistics companies for the purposes of rapid order fulfillment. Originally focused on the consumer goods market (electronics, durables and non-perishable household goods), it has branched into areas as diverse as travel, pet supplies and b2b software-as-a-service and cloud services.
